Administrative Personnel

Danny Reich began his job as Administrator of ACS in June, 2007.  He has several years of experience teaching in Christian schools and working in youth and music ministry.  His education includes a M.A. in Christian School Administration from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a B.A. in History from Northeastern State University with a minor in Management Information Science.  He and his wife, Angelia, have two young sons, Danny and Andrew.  Some of his hobbies include computer repair and networking, playing the trumpet and dabbling in military history. Mr. Reich is excited to be located in Bartlesville near extended family and to be used by God in the classical Christian education that ACS offers.

Tammy Turner works in the School Office. She loves that the Lord is incorporated into every aspect of the school day.  She has also come to really value the classical style of education.  Her youngest two kids, Hannah and Hunter, attend ACS.  Tammy's oldest daughter is an ACS alumnus.  The entire Turner family is passionate about missions and spend a lot of time overseas doing ministry.  They attend Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church.

Denise Wall  received her bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M with an emphasis in elementary and special education.  She is now serving in the School Office.  Denise feels ACS is a special place full of loving people who place God first in all things and seek to provide an excellent education for all their students.  Her passion in life is her love for God, her husband and her children.  Denise is passionate about teaching her children to glorify God in all that they say and do.  She desires to serve others and show love and kindness.  Her hobbies include interior design, reading and scrapbooking.  She and her husband, Ray, have two children.  Lauren is an ACS alumnus and Chandler is a student at ACS.  The Wall family attends Grace Community Church.

Junior High and High School Teachers

Jason Borah joined the ACS faculty in December, 2009 and is teaching History and Government.  His higher education includes a B.A. in Theology from Moody Bible Institute and M.A. in Theology (Magna Cum Laude) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.  What he loves the most about ACS is that the teachers work together from a distinctly Christian worldview, and the students are respectful and enjoy each other.  Great books, thinking through big ideas and being with his friends are all things that he is passionate about.  His hobbies include cooking good food for his friends, running, occasionally drawing or painting, and writing commonplaces and essays.  Grace Community Church is his home church.

Dr. Kevin Dray began teaching at ACS in August, 2007.  He is a native of Bartlesville and returned in Fall 2005 after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina.  His educational qualifications include a BA in English from Oklahoma Baptist University; M.Div. from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; Th.M. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary; Ph.D. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  He teaches Bible and Latin.  One thing that attracted him to ACS is the classical model of education that is implemented and all the educational opportunities it affords.  He is excited about making a lasting impact for the Kingdom, both now and in the future, through the lives of his students.  He enjoys reading, music, cooking and spending time with his wife, Kara, and daughter, Grace, an ACS student.  The Drays attend First Baptist Church.

Dalene Fisher is a native of Bartlesville and has a BS in Behavioral Science with a minor in English from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.  While pursuing her degree, she chose education courses for all her electives.  In August of 2006, she joined the ACS faculty and currently teaches high school Literature and Logic.  She loves ACS because her children are receiving a classical Christian education from teachers who genuinely care for them.  ACS has become a part of an extended family for her kids.  Her hobbies include art, cooking, running, reading and family activities.  Her passion in life is to serve her family, find joy in simplicity and passionately embrace whatever comes her way!  Dalene and her husband, Steven, have four children.  Spencer, Kirsten, Ashlyen, and Stanley are students at ACS.  The Fishers attend Grace Community church.

Christy Orphin joined the faculty in August, 2007.  She currently teaches Science and Math classes.  She moved to Bartlesville in 2004 and graduated from Oklahoma Wesleyan University with a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Math Education.  Her three children attend ACS.  God has a set her on an extraordinary path, and she looks forward to making a difference in the lives of young people.  Reading and spending time with family are two of her favorite things.  Being an eager learner, Mrs. Orphin always looks for new opportunities in every situation.

Amy Rice is our first ACS alumnus to join the faculty.  She teaches History, Literature, Language Arts and Keyboarding.  She is a recent graduate of Oklahoma Wesleyan University where she earned a Bachelor's degree with a major in English and a minor in History.  She attends Grace Baptist Church.  Reading, talking with her friends, playing the piano, and writing stories are some of her favorite things to do.  In reply to the question of what excites her about ACS, Amy writes, "I honestly am excited by so many things in ACS.  The students actually want to learn and become very passionate about gaining a Christian worldview.  The teachers are amazingly knowledgeable and feel called to raise up godly, thinking individuals.  The atmosphere of the school is one of enrichment, confidence, independence, and rigorous stimulation.  The classical approach is, in my opinion, the best form of education available and is tailor-made to suit the aims of a Christian school.  God is truly glorified in ACS!"

Pastor Brad Swygard received his Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy from West Texas State University. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dallas Theological Seminary with a Th.M. in Apologetics.  He pastors Grace Baptist Church in Bartlesville. Pastor Swygard began teaching at ACS in the spring of 2000.  He currently teaches Rhetoric II and Apologetics.  In the fall of 2000, he started the ACS Speech and Debate Team and has had students at least break to quarterfinals every year at the State Tournament.  In 2009, he was named Outstanding Forensics Coach of the Year for the state of Oklahoma.  He loves teaching the students things that will change their lives.  He and his wife, Jeanette, have three children.  Joel and John are students at ACS, and Sarah is an ACS alumnus.  More>>

Elementary Teachers

Sarah Eppinger has been teaching at ACS since 2000.  She has a BS in Mathematics from Dordt College. She is teaching  Elementary Math and Music and is also an Assistant Debate Coach and College Prep Counselor.  The thing she loves most about ACS is the classical Christian approach to education.  She also loves her students and how supportive the parents are.  Sarah's passion in life is to follow Christ.  In education her passion is to get the "light bulb" to go on in her students' minds.  Also, she loves chocolate!  Her hobbies include reading, walking, cooking, playing the piano and doing cross-stitch, and she is a member of the Choral Society.  She attends Westminster Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

Mary Ray attended Texas Tech University and West Texas A&M University where she pursued a degree in elementary education. She put her education on hold to start a family with her husband Doug. Their three daughters, Grace, Bridget and Katie attend ACS. Concerning the classical model of education Mary says, “It never ceases to amaze me. My children have not only thrived at ACS academically, they have grown in their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.” Being a teacher’s aide and working with students brings joy to her heart, especially when they get to talk about God’s wonderful creation and His Son. In her free time, she enjoys doing home improvement projects, traveling and reading. The Rays attend Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church.

Jennifer Gonzalez joined the teaching staff in January, 2010 and is teaching
Pre-K

Carole McIntire is currently teaching Kindergarten at ACS.  She joined the faculty in 2005.  She has a BS in Elementary Education from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.  Carole is incredibly passionate about Christian education and loves teaching in a Christian environment where God and His Word are the foundation for every subject.  She loves to take a subject and make it come alive in the mind of a child.  Her hobbies include scrapbooking, cooking, baking, entertaining, traveling, playing the piano and shopping at craft fairs and antique shops.  She and her husband, Kirk, attend Grace Community Church where she is active with the children's ministry.  They have four children, Cara, Tucker, Addie, and Ellie, who are all ACS students.

Esther Rovenstine is our First and Second Grade teacher.  After teaching for thirty years and being retired for nine years, she joined the ACS faculty in August, 2008.  She had previously taught first grade for twelve years and third grade for eighteen years in both Kansas and Oklahoma.  She has a B.S. degree from Marymount College and a M.S. degree from Kansas State University.  She finds it gratifying and a joy to teach a small group and to capitalize on the unique strengths of each student as well as meet their needs.  Integrating Biblical truths and principles into every aspect of the teaching day is also a highlight for her. Mrs. Rovenstine and her husband, Wendell, have five married children who have provided them with sixteen wonderful grandchildren.  It is their delight to communicate with each of their children and grandchildren and attempt to join them in as many of their special events as possible.  In her spare time she loves to read, do handwork, and travel.

Carolyn Morgan is teaching the Third and Fourth Grade class.  She has a BS degree in Early Childhood Education from OSU and has been on staff with ACS since August, 2007.  Carolyn and her husband Jon have two children, Seth and Lindsay.  She spent 20 years raising and educating her own children at home as well as serving in leadership positions at church and in the Bartlesville Christian Home Educator's Fellowship.  Both her children took high school classes at ACS that enhanced their home program.  Carolyn has always been passionate about teaching from a Christian worldview and hopes to inspire her students at ACS toward excellence in their schoolwork as a part of their love and service for God.

Jeanette Swygard has taught at ACS since 2000.  She has a BS in Elementary Education with a math concentration from West Texas A&M State University.  She teaches the Fifth and Sixth Grade class.  The thing she loves most about ACS is the freedom that she has to be able to show the students how God is central to every subject.  One of her greatest passions is learning and teaching about how God is involved in the history of the world.  She loves to read about history, watch the history channel and visit historical sites.  Jeanette is amazed at God's use of men and the elements of His creation to affect His people.  She is married to Pastor Brad Swygard who also teaches at ACS.
