National Merit Scholarship Corporation
as Commended Student, Semifinalist or Finalist. This includes a mixture of full-time and
part-time students.
The average ACT score for the graduating classes of 2009 and 2010 is 24.
College Admissions and Scholarships
All sixteen students from the graduating classes of 2009 and
2010 were
accepted into colleges. These students accepted scholarships
and grants totaling over
$408,160 from schools including
Covenant College, Hillsdale College, Kansas City Art
Institute, Lee University, Oklahoma Baptist University, Oklahoma State
University, Oklahoma Wesleyan University and University of
Oklahoma. Various civic groups and corporations
granted these talented students an additional $29,000 in
scholarships.
Speech & Debate Team Highlights
Some of the fruit of the Christ-centered, classical approach to education is seen in the success of our
speech and debate team
over the years. The program showcases, reinforces and enhances the
education students receive at ACS. The team has a rich
history
of success.
- The team won the state championship in 2008, 2009 and 2010 (Class
3A).
- ACS students have qualified to compete at the national tournament in
both 2008 and 2009.
- ACS students have been breaking into the state quarter finals or
better every year since its beginning in 2000.
Standardized Test Results
Results from recent standardized testing also reflect well on the
school's ability to equip students.
Well over half (58%) of our students scored in the top 25% of the nation on the Stanford Achievement Test.
More than one third of them scored in the top 15% of the nation.
